The Ballet Russes was founded in 1909 and it closed in 1929. The group never actually performed in Russia, where they started. Instead, they performed all over North and South America. The group was made up of dancers, choreographers, costume designers, and composer, and Sergei Pavlovich Diaghilev, the founder.
