Pina Bausch was a German performer in the 1970s. She was born in 1940 and she died at age 68 in 2009. She was accepted into Folkwangschule (Folkwang Academy) at age 15. For college, she studied at Julliard in NY.  In 1937, she became the artistic director of the Wuppertal Opera ballet. She was a very influential artist and dancer.
